POST ELECTION THOUGHTS! - "His Compassions Never Fail"
The first thought that came to my mind the morning after the 2024 Elections was that God had given America a reprieve and a Ray of HOPE going forward for the future. These verses from the Book of Ecclesiastes may capture what many are also feeling concerning the results.
Ecclesiastes 3:21-23… “Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
In my opinion as well as many others across the country, the election results were not so much about personalities as it was about a conservative shift towards family values and morality. To be sure, the economy was the biggest factor affecting how people voted as so many of the exit polls showed. Yet, even the economy is about family and if families feel they are better off now than they were 4 years ago.
Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, spoke with Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins on Trump’s win and attributed it to a push-back against “the Woke Left’s Crazy Ideology” concerning abortion, LGBTQ, Gender issues and other anti-traditional family values. The race was nowhere as close as some believed it would be and proof that people are fed up and want change. They are not buying into a radical liberal agenda. That’s why I think of it as a reprieve. But, it’s not time to rest!
