In today's broken world, the battle requires not only courage but a steadfast commitment to make meaningful strides in support of families amid the complexities of today’s culture war. This endeavor is not for the faint of heart; it calls for individuals who are willing to stand firm in their beliefs and advocate passionately for the values that uplift families. We can navigate the challenges that lie ahead and create an environment where God is honored, religious liberty flourishes, families thrive and life is cherished. Let us embrace this important journey together, recognizing that our actions today lay the foundation for a more hopeful and resilient future for generations to come.

It's a New Year with new opportunities!   Thank you to all who have helped this ministry with your prayer support and financial gifts.

As we move forward in 2025 please continue to pray with us - that God will continue to guide and lead the leadership to the place where we can reach more families and be effective in changing lives.

RIFI is here to make a difference in this chaotic world. Will you pray with us, and give a monthly or one time gift? We could not do this without you and we are grateful for your support.

                           Our Chaotic World!

There are many bible verses that describe our world but there is one verse in particular that keeps running through my mind, especially after I’ve updated myself with the morning news. “We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.” Romans 8:22 NIV

Having a ‘BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW,’ looking at world events through a biblical lens, is the only way I can make sense of the chaos going on all around us. Psalm 119:104-5 says it clearly, “I gain understanding from your laws (the Bible)… your word (the Bible) is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path.”

As we begin this New Year 2025 let’s make an effort to put on those biblical lenses and try to look at our world, our country, and our families from God’s perspective.

In this month’s newsletter let’s look at two issues through that lens: Gender - Transgenderism; and Israel – Anti-Semitism.

Gender Dysphoria and Transgenderism

The New York Times as well as other liberal news sources went on record saying that one of the biggest deciding issues affecting the presidential election was the ‘GENDER ISSUE.’

The consensus was that people were fed up with the craziness, lack of common sense, and what amounted to child abuse advocated and promoted by the Obama and the Biden administrations.

Their policies affected both the Public Schools and Women & Girls Sports often usurped parental rights.

The shock waves were definitely felt in Congress. The House passed a bill last Tuesday, January 14th that would ban transgender athletes from competing in women's and girls' sports at schools that receive federal funding.

“This is a great day for women in America," Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., said in a statement.” House Republicans stood up for women.

Today, the House voted to require all schools receiving federal funds to uphold the original meaning of Title IX and keep biological men out of women's sports."

Let’s pray the Senate will also do the same.

Looking through the Biblical Lens, Genesis 5:2 says “He created them male and female and blessed them.” The RI Family Institute has resources to help you understand this issue better with medical facts and stats.

Israel and Anti-Semitism

As a pastor with a Master’s Degree in Biblical Studies I have often taught how the Old Testament teaches us the Importance of Israel.

The New Testament book of Revelation also describes events that will take place in the ‘Last Days’ and even with a cursory reading of this book you will find that the little nation of Israel is right in the center of it all. So, we all should be PRAYING for Israel, especially people of faith!

Many of you know that the Israel-Hamas War began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched a land, sea, and air assault on Israel from the Gaza Strip. The October 7 attack resulted in the deadliest day for Israel since its independence.

On that day 1139 people were killed, including 38 children. About 250 Israeli civilians and soldiers were taken as hostages to the Gaza Strip, alive or dead, including 30 children.

The stated goal was to force Israel to exchange them for imprisoned Palestinians. Hundreds were slaughtered and there were dozens of cases of rape and sexual assault. This was more than a year ago and finally this morning (January 20th) only 3 hostages were released.

News on Israel, especially the negotiations concerning the hostages, is one of the first things I check daily. The Christian Broadcasting Network’s TV channel - CBN gives a daily update that I find very helpful. I’ve also become part of a local organization, the Rhode Island Coalition for Israel or RICI.

"What Has Changed Since Recreational Marijuana Was Legalized?"

RIFI has a new outreach! We would love to come to your church or youth group and present a forty-five minute mini-workshop that will bring knowledge and awareness to you with information such as, getting a handle on marijuana policy, how families are being affected, pot shops on the arise, gummies and candy, and a view of the devastating effects on other states that have legalized it.
