We are in an election year and families are more at risk than ever. Polls show that President Biden’s support among younger voters is very low and we already seeing reckless efforts to change those numbers. Unfortunately, these efforts are similar to playing ‘Russian Roulette’ with young lives! I see at least three efforts his party is using to attract younger voters and all three put young people between 18 and 40 at risk: promoting abortion on demand, campus unrest and lessening restrictions on recreational marijuana.
The first of these is being accomplished by making the abortion pill Mifepristone readily available by mail, with little or no restrictions. It’s now available at pharmacies like CVS and Walgreens without a prescription (but not Walmart). This despite warnings from organizations like the National Institute of Health (NIH) of the significant risk of morbidity and death following the use of mifepristone as an abortifacient. I will address this is in a future newsletter.
The second effort to capture young voters is by allowing organizations to infiltrate college campuses to stir up Anti-Israel hatred. This is reminiscent of the campus riots of the 60’s. The ‘administration’ is superficially supporting Israel but not really taking a strong stand within the United Nations itself. What took place on October 7th by the terrorist group Hamas against Israel was pure evil and it’s not hard to see a unified effort from outside America to use it to create unrest on our college campuses and universities.
The third effort to attract younger voters is more subtle but don’t be fooled it’s every bit as destructive. Cannabis, or marijuana is currently a schedule I drug on the Controlled Substances Act — the most severe classification, which means it is believed to have a high propensity for abuse. Heroin is in the same category. The DOJ decision would move cannabis to a schedule III drug and significantly loosen federal restrictions. Politico says that Biden’s move to loosen weed restrictions could be a boost for him politically, particularly among young voters where there is strong support for marijuana legalization. A recent national poll showed that 65 percent of 18- to 25-year-old likely voters expressed support for the administration’s recommendation to move marijuana to a less stringent classification under federal law, compared to just 14 percent who indicated opposition. But is something like cannabis/marijuana safe because its popular? The FACTS say NO!
